 ZUMBA!
The Latin Dance inspired fitness class with a party atmosphere!
ZUMBA is the biggest current fitness trend!!   Why?
                 Because it is fun...
designed for everyone...
                                                               soulful....
              and...........................the most exciting workout ever!

Right out of the heart of Colombia, South America,  ZUMBA routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body and maximize caloric output, fat burning, and total body conditioning.  ZUMBA  targets your glutes, legs, arms, abdominals and the most important muscle in your body, the heart.  The explosive and exotic Latin music rhythms and the easy-to-follow steps motivate you to return again and again.  You don't even think about the great workout you are getting because you are having so much fun!   Zumba is for everyone: there is no right or wrong... you just move to the music the way your body naturally moves.  Because there are so many smiling people during our Zumba classes we have developed our own special slogan:
"The Best Happy Hour in Town!"

Shoe Information:
Many are asking about what to wear for shoes... Some of this depends on how you plan to do Zumba!  Remembering that Zumba is both dance and fitness, it may have some jumping if you like to jump!  These students will want a more supportive shoe. Others that want to stick strictly to the dance moves will still need support, but not as much.  The most important suggestion we have is that for any location that has a carpeted floor, MAKE SURE THAT YOUR SHOES WILL TWIST EASILY ON CARPET.  Test them at home or in the store.  Do not wear shoes that "grip" the carpet or it will endanger the integrity of your knee.  The big question is:  Where do students find shoes that are more slick on the bottom?  Below, are some ideas.  But first, some info from the internet:
What do I wear to Zumba?
Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for exercise, that allows freedom of movement and appropriate cooling.  Shoes should be comfortable with plenty of cushion and lateral support.  Runniing shoes are NOT the best, given they have too much tread and do not allow your foot to easily twist on the floor.  To keep your knees protected, we highly recommend getting a DANCE SNEAKER (Bloch, Capezio, Sanchas are some of the brands.) We do not recommend bare feet/sock-feet due to lack of support.
